How Do You Coffee?

As an Italian I consume what can be considered an absurd amount of coffee. It doesn’t matter if it’s a macchiato or a 12 oz. drip, but it does have to be good coffee. That’s why I was over the moon to craft this campaign for La Colombe, not only cause I adore their roasts, but I got to work with one of the best chef’s in the country, Tim Hollingsworth of Otium LA.

At the base of this campaign is a hand crafted documentary that any coffee nerd would love to drown in. We sit in Tim’s home kitchen and talk flavors as he makes us his perfect cup of joe. Then we roll down to Frogtown to visit the master roaster of La Colombe and their CEO to talk about process and quality. Then, the showstopper, as we go deep into a tasting with Tim as he explains how he came up with his signature blend, Sonder.

From there it was easy to break out into smaller social moments, and lost of flirty, romantically caffeinated content to support the film, which did fantastic in the Reddit and TikTok machine. I also started a series called “How do you La Colombe” where we visit people of interest to find out how they make their perfect coffee at home. I don’t know about you but I like knowing that the conductor of the LA Philharmonic uses La Creuset french press, just like I do every morning.
